Web Accessibility
What is Web Accessibility ?
Web Accessibility refers to implementation of best practices, universal design principles and criteria to comply with Section 508 and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) in order to eliminate barriers that prevent any user from interacting and utilizing all that is offered in a webpage.
Website Reporting Schedule
All Campus websites, or websites used by Campus, are automatically scanned weekly (PopeTech). To help keep your scans current and resolve problems quickly, you can scan your site(s) at any time. For reporting purposes, please scan and remediate all errors found and perform a manual review prior to the following schedule:
- Last Thursday of February
- Second Thursday of May
- First Thursday of October
Web Accessibility Exemptions
ATI exemptions are not granted but the Campus Web Service Team will work with individuals or departments to make content ATI compliant.
ATI Policies for Web
It is the policy of the CSU to make information technology resources and services accessible to all CSU students, faculty, staff and the general public regardless of disability. (Policy at the CSU ). CSUF recognizes the importance of the Internet as a means to provide information. CSUF has a world wide web policy UPS 103.005 which has guidelines for all websites.
Web Accessibility Evaluation
Web evaluations are conducted to report problems regarding the accessibility and usability of web applications within the CSUF web environment. Testing is done on individual department web sites, vendor resources, or other sites that would be directed to use by the Campus community. All Campus areas are trained on compliance standards.
The CSU ATI Accessibility Requirements are used to conduct regular tests within the CSUF web domain. Additional manual testing is conducted as needed based on the findings.
To report accessibility or usability problems, please contact the webpage owner for a faster response. You may also let us know by using the Report an ATI issue link on this page. We value the insights and ideas you may share as a visitor to these web pages.
